Western Cemetery, established in July 1936, offers various grave options, including lawn graves, traditional plots, and space for cremated remains. The cemetery accommodates diverse burial needs, allowing for traditional-style memorials for Muslim, Greek Orthodox, and Jewish burials. It also features a garden for the scattering of cremated remains and a dedicated Jewish prayer house. Opening hours vary seasonally, with longer hours during the summer, and there’s a ‘Dear Mum’ remembrance garden introduced in 2021, designed to assist children in coping with bereavement.

Notably, Western Cemetery is a place of remembrance for military personnel, with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission maintaining the graves and memorials of 22 First World War casualties and 121 servicemen who lost their lives during the Second World War. Additionally, the cemetery houses three special memorials honoring fourteen of these fallen heroes.
